面向中医典籍的机器翻译系统的开发

摘　要：本文基于作者对目前机器翻译及其研究现状的思考，试图论证运用“最简模式机器翻译方法”开发面向中医典籍的机器翻译系统的可行性。首先，中医语言的特点适合机器翻译，并且可以在翻译的过程中加大译语的信息密度以提高系统信息处理效率；其次，中医翻译的特殊程序使采用受限语言成为可能。此外，本文还对中医药方机译尚需解决的问题进行了分析。

Abstract: This essay explores the feasibility of applying the "Minimalist Approach" in machine translation (MT) to turning traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) classics into foreign languages. The linguistic features of TCM lend themselves to MT and are likely to add to the information density of the target language and the efficiency of the system. The proposed procedure for translating TCM also makes it possible for the controlled language to be applied in designing the MT system. The problems with this model are also discussed.
